Post Still got Problem with 8210, wont accept sim card can anyone help please???

the phone is totally unlocked (ive checked with nokia tool)
when i put a simcard in it still says please insert simcard as though it isnt recognising it.
Is there something i can do. Is the sim reader broken. If so can it be replaced and is there anyone in the UK that can fix it.
Please try to help.
Thanks

It is possible that the SIM reader has a failure althought that doesn't have to be the main reason. For example, when I unlock 6250 on some SW after unlock I get in Nokia tool 034 that phone is still locked but when I put the SIM card inside, the phone accepts it

I don't understand why it's so

Anyway, soon I will put for download a 100% working f_loader.bin file for the use with 8210 5.27...

the fact that the message displayed is "insert sim card" and not "simcard not accepted" indicates that the problem is sim reader related

Hi all
I think maybe you flash your phone with a full flash of 2Mb and changed the IMEI with this, them the phone do not accept SIMs, all locka are closed by this (also if the Nokia Tools says are opened), they are all locks.
Solution is flash with the Dejan Box (not Dejan cable) and restore to the original IMEI with this Box.
I have one on the same situation of you of a friend of mine than do this .
Good Luck

After having a new SIM reader, now your phone is working fine. Problem is that it looses signal, right.

Do you still have the original backup when the phone came to you (lets disregard the idea that somebody else flashed it)? Is it the one that is currently on the phone?

If yes for both cases, then try this. When you loose signal, try pressing # then Call. If it gets back a signal after requesting then it just might be a signal problem. Take note though that you might have to do this several times before you get back a signal.

Alternatively you can try doing a manual network search and see if you get any signal.

I for one might think of this as a hardware error and not related to flash for in the first place, the SIM card reader was the problem earlier. Perhaps, this might be a dropped phone!

Regards,

aCe

Hi,

Yes aZyWeRks & Kilowat are right, maybe you are flash it with 2mb file(with eeprom) or flash it differ of PPM pack.
1st you must check IMEI(*#06#)whether same with IMEI sticker(on back of phone),if same that maybe is differ of PPM pack.if that is not same you must flash back your 2mb backup(with eeprom).

Good Luck
