Post Understanding FULL flahes, and evaluating them

ok thing this is my first topic start !! ....

anyhows to the point ..
Now i understand the basic make up of the phones data area ...
MCU - being the atual phones OS ...
PPM - is the laugauges that the OS can be viewed in
And EEProm - is were all crutial, and security details are (like checkums, some lock data, Imei data etc

now with this all said my Questions are....
Is a 'repair' file just a 'backup' of the MCU/PPM of the SAME version AND langauge pack ..

and if so can this be changed at will ASLONG as the Version and pack stay the same, and the eeprom data not touched ?

so for example u flashed to the wrong addy, AND that addy is in the MCU/PPM section.. flashing back to the phone a MCU/PPM of the same version pack would then in turn fix it

ok there my first questions, which are more like just reassuring my origanal thoughts...
The next one is a bit more complex

ok say a 'person' brings to u a phone of unknown history, is there a way of checking if the MCU/PPM are ok fully working and also the same with the eeprom data
is there a way of seeing if this has been tampered with ??

more interested in the eeprom data, as if theres suspiions on MCU/PPM then u could just flash a 'repair' file to it (asuming my foirst questions are reassured !! lol)
Now im not sure if NFREE will play apart here or not but i was asuming that this can help ???

THANKS for any reply peeoples ..
and if poss u can anser like more that one Q per reply
(Most apreciated peeps Mick ...

yes, repair flash file is just that you said.......
you can check if all is ok by downloading full backup from the 6210 200-600 and then run rolis 4.77 and check checksums in the flash file......
thats all.........

ok that u for the confirmation ..
so with this said, what is the problem, if a phone has a ok MCU/PPM (and has had this reflashed with a 'repair' fls...

and if using a Mbus cable and read with 034/035 and ALL locks are open
BUT ... yes always a but .... u cannot get a signal ??
which does happern on some occasion from wrong or invalid partials... how could u check this? would this bring up an error in say rolis checksum read out ??

ALSO ... in futher question to these 'repair' flashes, they quote the version of the repair but never the PPM package ?? sur;ly this would have to be the same...
or is a backup flash and a repair flas two diferent kinds of flash

say in the 'repair' flash, the PPM is made to be sceene as a genric one and can be used irristecpitve of the previous package ??
thanx again Mick ...

This usually means that the phone was flashed with the wrong language pack...

Nope... they're exactly the same flash. A repair flash is a full backup with everything execpt the eeprom.

Nope... that is only the case if the repair flash only contains the MCU... A real repair flash is specific to a PPM.

Take a look at Nokia Firmware...
There... Not only you can download the MCU or PPM files but you can also select two of them to generate a repair flash.

If you need a flash generated, drop me a mail...

People that show "repair flashes" without specifying the PPM don't know what they're talking about, that's for sure...

thanx again Mick ...
