Help with 3310 - GSM-Forum

Problems are:
1>After couple a days, it started giving very unusual error. Initially was
showinh 170 missed calls, even if there is one or multiple miss calls the
result is the same. And, now it shows 255 miss call, again if there is only
one miss call. I tried this myself. SOmetimes it fails to notify any miss
call status on the man standby screen, although the new miss call entry does
get registered in the MIssed Calls menu.
2> When ever i try an access phone book, either it hangs up and restart
after sometime or restart immediately. Reason for which i cannot use any of
the phone book feature or any related featuer.
Software Version is V 04.06, 21-11-00, NHM-5. I tried upgrading this to
V04.18 through your official representative of Nokia in Mumbai(mentioned in their web-
site), But after upgarding the situation is further degrades, and the mobile
stops functioning completle and just keeps on restarting. So i reloaded my
original V 04.06.

Even at initial stage, predictive typing - feature had compleletly vanished
with no dictonery feature to enable, but after loading back V 04.06 it got
restored and now it is enable and activated.

Can anybody pls. help me and get back to me on these problem as it becomes very difficult to
function this phone with so many problem. having faith in Nokia and its user. Pls. dont dissapoint me.

Hi Saintkhan

At a guess I would say that it sounds like a "bad flash" (Either some wrong bytes or some dead cells in flash IC) did nokia flash this first time, it sounds as if either your flash IC is faulty or nokia did not do a very good job at upgrade.

You also say that you reflashed this the second time back to 4.06,

How did you do this without TD4 ect, did you use dejan?

Did you get networks after reflash?

Is your phone working OK now other that dictionary?

Finally if nokia upgraded this for you why didnt you take it back and complain to them that it was not right?

Thanks for replying.
1. I really dunno what is TD4ect or dejan, and secondly this nokia service centre guys didn't let me have a look at their process to do this.

2. yes, my phone is working and hooked to the network suceessfully, except
a)I get 255 miss call notices for any nos. of miss call,
b)sometimes miss calls doesn't show on main standby screen,
c) can't access any function or feature related to phone book.
D) ANd yes, my Dictionery and SMS feature is working perfect.

I did tell then about this problem, but they said it is something to do with on/off function of the handset. Which i found preety stupid assumption. Ok, is it possible that i must have spoiled/triggered some wrong function when i uploaded operators logo from www.phoneytunes.com OR keyed in some hot-keys which is doing this to my phone. On the same site there are tricks and tips with many hot keys to check some hidden menus, see SIM lock status and other. Is is possible i triggered some wrong function through that??
