I need help beating my tracfone 1100b

So far its winning. I tried to unlock it that worked but their counter firmware is still intact. I went to flash it and it won't connect to the computer. I was reading that tracfone cuts the board to prevent flashing. I have added a picture to show what I'm talking about. This cheap phone has cost me a lot of headache but I'm determined to get this thing unlocked. I've searched everywhere and I coun't find anyone else that has addressed this problem. Is there a way to bridge the connection so that I can flash this phone?

Does the bridge need to be permanent (ie soldered?) or can one just connect the two point with alligator clips and remove after flashing is complete?
