3100 No Network

Hello Friends,

I have today received a nokia 3100 which has a network problem
It says no network in manual searching within seconds.

Now, this is the first timne I am handling a 3100, so when I connect
it to UFS 3, and click on check, it says 1st boot error, rebooting
mobile. So, the next time I clicked on check, I also pressed the power
button on the mobile, and it read ok. It even gave me the info by
clicking on info, but the phone had to be powered on....

Now, is this common, or some problem with flash section of the
phone, or some problem of my cable? because I think the phone
should respond to check button without pressing power on button?

Please also tell me, is it safe to flash this phone?
or it may go dead on me.
Also, are no network problems solvable on 3100 by writing pm file?

One more question, As I am new to repairing, I try to avoid repairing
small problems in working phones because I am scared that if I open
up the phone, it may go dead on me. Am I right, or just paranoid?
Please give me feedback about how you people overcame this fear!

Regards,
Raja3333
