all you need is experiment yourself with basic tools and preferabbly with an oscilloscope. Discuss with others. There are many here who help like Willy and X-shadow and many more others.

the most important factor is to share the knowledge. If you help yourself and dont be lazy you can do a lot. There is no such 1 direct and easy solution to every problem.

The only practice and help you can need is in BGA resoldering.

Dont know about the CD would guess you couldnt learn so well from a CD, Excell Direct have a CD but I dont think you could learn from it too well. Why not try a course ( www.excelldirect.co.uk ) (see the page on courses) They teach all kinds of repairs ie reballing Hagars, osscilscope work, IC removing..... But......... They are always fully booked. Its difficult to get a place as there is usually a wait list. You need to check dates with them but I heard that the earliest date now is August.
