3310 power/no network

3310 power problem, that is not related to software.i change power ic and still does not power.i read in a nokia book that after changing power ic i should run energy management caliberation. i dont know what that mean.any solution. secondly, no-network problem, search manual still cannot find any network.i have tried changeing hagar, but anytime i change it d phone does not power-on back.i dont know why?in a book that i read i was told to use wintestal.i dont what it means/look like /'where to get it from.any solution.

your phone power on or not? if yes, check if it has network and then drops, if true change PA and Ant Switch

MAJESTIC PIRATE 02-20-2004 22:47

3310 no network

check external ant. and its connection to pcb , change ant. sw. , rehot hagar and cobba , if not change them , change ccont ........

auth_repair_cen 02-20-2004 23:55

hi there.. if you have changed the ccont and you are getting the correc voltages eg 2.6 or 2.8v on the 26meg then it could be the flash chips the haggar. most prob the flash chips though.
if your phone has no signal and none when doing a manual search the i would reflow the haggar and cobba.
then if you still get nothing change the cobba first but then you need to do a faid update. as the imei data is in the cobba.
energy managment can only be done when the phone is working and i dont know if there is any generic hardware that can do it.
hope this helps.

3310 power/no network

thanks 4 tips.i think my problem is a little bit education.u see i have gone through techincal trainging but all of d trainging school we have in nigeria dont actualy teach hardware.when tell them about power/no-network in phone they tell it can not be repair, that is why i have taking time in do reasch/reading alot of repair book including practical training me self.i hav tried removing hagar and replacing it back, but to my surprise d phone did not power-on.likewise with d power ic too.i think what i need now is visual aid (cd)where practical demostration is been carried out.(reoving/replacing ic/reballing).pls if u have such/can produce such 4 a fee,i dont mind.because i do repairs and it be of a great advantage to me.thanks.

Hi!
For first , you must make rules for yourself step by step in diagnostic of phone ,why phone not work, if you replace ICs one by one this is long and not good way for repairing
In the most common cases the problem with phones is his customer!
Yes man! They wash with phones in bath, play ******** with phones, throw in to wall.... then go to workshop and tell to you bla bla bla.... yesterday my phone was worked, today this bu....it not work.... :D :D :D
Try to speak with customer why phone not working
If phone was water damaged, clean PSB than to check holes between layers especially power lines, check data in flash memory(try reprogramm phone), check system clock(main oscillator 13MHz,26MHz,19.5MHz depend on phone model) if system oscillator broken you phone will never power up in all modes ,check visually under microscope the most component on PCB, try find seriously damaged than replace if find. If phone is knocked, you must try find broken soldering of component, especially solder balls under BGA(only one way - remove the component and check visually), try find mechanically damaged components, for example Nokia8210 drop network: in most cases reason is broken soldering under COBBA, try to check all ceramic component like filters, PA, antenna switch, there can be cracks.
But the first step on phones with no power always must be - Check Power! Check resistance on battery contacts, check power lines from battery to power IC, try to check voltage on secondary power lines from power IC, check soldering of this IC, for me the 80 % of all failures is bad soldering and mechanically damaged components.
Good Luck! :)

thanks anyway, most of what u say are correct.i work on some and they do work at lesat60%.4 example removing ic and checking 4 broken ball, afer doing that,d problem of reballing, and after putting d ic back to make it work again is my most problem.i can read chart properly.i will be happy if you have visual aid.

MaRo 02-21-2004 23:05

rehot pcb , rehot cobba then change it , change ant sw. , change hagar , finally you must change ccont ....

So ... this is not so hard as you mean ;)
1. You should choose temperature correctly ~250-300C
2. Before you start heat up the chip first preheat hot air tool 2-3 minutes
3. You should choose time correctly (otherwise you can overheat IC), you must heat up chip not so long, the best way to define that chip can be removed or it was already soldered is a easy movement of the chip under influence of a air flow (you can see it under microscope), it means that solder completely has fused, time about 1-2 minutes from a start of heating(depend on size of chip and PCB configuration)
4. For soldering back time about 0.5-1 minutes
5. For reballing i choose temp. ~200-250C, for first, study on old or damaged ICs, and i sure after some quantity you will do it fast and with good quality :)

and for reballing how much do u choose in air flux???

thx
