Thumbs down 5800 powers off when making a call...

hi mates.

this problem is similar to the 5530. Tried already to cover the small ribbon that is connected to the speaker. Tried also to remove the speaker to check if the problem is originating from it but still powers off.

Last thing that comes in mind is a faulty PA but till now never read about such a source of a problem on the 5800.

thanks for any help

juste isolate the connector of the head set with some tape.
you will need to disassemble the phone.
good luck

as already said in the first post i even tried to remove the speaker and same effect. This means speaker is not the source of the problem.

well verify carefully the speacker ways , fot fine cuts because the metal shield of LCD press on board and short-cut the speaker ways to ground usualy with adesive band can solve this its a very common problem for 5130 , 5530,5230

i dont believe its a software problem mate. Its exactly like the 5530 and in the 5530 its a hardware problem.

I once had such a problem on E71 but when i cleaned the board with spirit, especially around the power switch,it stopped.I have also experienced such on 6303 and when i flahed it with latest firmware via usb on mxkey it worked perfectly.u may as well try these.

yes problem is from the speaker cable. removed speaker and problem persisted. removed the cable and it was ok. I wonder how on earth this cable gets like this considering its not going any sort of strain like a moving one.

thanks guys for the help.
