Red face 6150 Problems. Pls help

I've got this 6150 in which the 900 band does not work properly. It can receive calls, but text messages are always lagged. This is not sim card dependent because with the same sim on another phone the text is received instantaneously after sending it.

The same is however different with a 1800 sim card. No problems with text and calls.

But nevertheless of the 2 bands the signal seems weak and somtimes fluctuating. Any comments or suggestions..? Thanks!

Hi cells r us.

I have added info about problem...

I have this 6150 that when you install battery and leave the phone off. It won't turn on the next day. The unit is self discharging even when off.

Also, I tried testing the battery contacts: with + probe to + terminal and - probe to - terminal - and tester at x1 range... needle deflects

when I switch the probes the needle deflects and stays deflected.

Another problem is that the txt msgs in the 900 band lag, while the 1800 band is ok. Could you give me suggestions man? Thanks.

PA Problem, short circuit.
Try to pull out one or both PA, and check again Resistance + and - battery connector.

I just pulled out the 900 mhz PA. I now can receive txt messages no problem. Also I checked the battery terminals for shorts and surely it is the 900 mhz PA shorted. I'll just try to observe the phone for a couple of days. I think it is ok to just leave the phone only with a 1800 PA... Is this ok? Keep you posted. Thanks again Fizz

Red face

I observed that though I can receive txt msgs more reliably now that before I pulled out the 900 mhz PA, The signal seems to drop to 1-2 bars just before it the txt msgs arrive. What else could be giving in this phone? All suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!
