Member: 95872 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | To everyone who's wondering where the 2 chips are: Open the phone. You will see the keypad is connected to the phone board through a connector. On the left side of the connector you will see 2 small square BGA chips. If some of your keys are not working and you have already tried the keypad itself and you don't find a problem there, then try these chips. If one of the chips is chipped or broken you don't have to look for the problem anywhere else. First try to reflow the chips. If that doesn't work then take the chips from another phone, reball them, using a mask and solder them on the phone to be repaired. The 2 chips are controlling different keys, so if you are lucky you will do it only by replacing one chip. Test the phone after each replacement and take notes of which keys are working. If after replacement the condition of the phone is worse then you haven't soldered the chip properly. Good Luck! |
