7110 roller not working - GSM-Forum

Hello to all..

I have 7110 , roller is not working.
all everything is working without problems.
I changed roller but not helped.
Any idea how to fix it ?
My sw. is 5.01

Have you test the inside switch matrix?

There is a metal plate that is attached to the screw hole of the 7110 A-cover. I've encountered serveral times where this metal plate is missing. People change A-covers not re-installing this part to the new cover. This plate keeps the navi-roller contacts to the pcb.

If this doesn't help. Get a working board. The 3 navi-roller contact pads have 3 jumper points on the board which connects thru board to their respective resistors and caps before going to MAD. Check the lines individually if there are any lines cut.

I also have a problem with my 7110. But this one jumps all over the phone book when I start to scroll. The phone works fine during the first 1 minute after that the problem starts to kick in.

Other than the roller problem, the phone works normally.

I checked the roller and it's contacts and they seem to be fine. Also tried flashing from 494 to 501 but no luck.

I think your navi-roller is busted. Either your upward or your downward scroll is faulty. Try changing it.

btw, is there a way to bypass PUK1 without resorting to the unblocking code( i lost it long time ago). a repair shop here says it can be done.

If they have contacts within globe or smart, they can get you PUK code for you for around P250 for globe. For smart PUK, go to your neares wireless center and they will gladly retrieve your PUK for around P50.
