7650 shorting the battery

As soon as I put a battery in the phone and measure the voltage on the phone (with the battery still in the phone), the voltage reads zero!
What component(s) can cause this problem?
I was able to flash this phone with Griffin, obviously it is still dead.
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks

it is indication for short pa .

remove the resister just below the pa,it is in series to pa+v from battry and check or remove pa.

+volts from battery goes direct to pa.

You might be referring to the COIL that is between PA's supply and Battery B+. It is a coil and not a resistor.

u r 100% wright.it is a rfc [radio frequency chock or coil] it looks like a resister ,so for the pplz not familiar with electronics or less experienced, i wrote it resister.

@paygee

No problem m8, just wanted it straightened out. People should call the parts as they are so as not to confuse our mates here. Some might think you are referring to a "resistor" and not the coil.

You are right.
I was actually looking for a resistor.

Now to the real problem
Removed the coil, I still had the short.
I guess I have to replace the PA.
But where can I get a replacement?
Who sells them?
Thx

1- Do you mean I should change the coil? Will this coil cause this problem?
2- Will the big resistor also cause this problem?

I will try changing the flat ribbon cable
I have changed the keypad board same problem

As soon as I replace these, I will post results.
Thx

When you remove the coil and there is still short, this means your PA is not faulty as you have just isolated the PA from the board by removing the coil... You will have to look for the short somewhere else. Try removing the LCD module and check for shorts.. or UEM... or AEM
