yes you can do that, i converted one phone today, flash with 7610, write PM (7610) unlock full factory, format user area.
then change 3 filters aroung rf IC.

that is all you need, with my best regards.

yes 1000% sure

softwarea:
1-flash with 7610
2-write PM file (7610) to the phone
3-unlock
4-full factory defaults
5-format user area

hardware:
1-open phone
2-open metal cover the one in the top of the phone (RF IC is under it)
3- change the filters around the I.C (the littile black ones) you can replace from a nokia 6100 or 6310i.

you are ready to use your phone on 900-1800Mhz networks

best regards

try changing SIM card it might be "not valid", if still the same check SIM card connector pins, if there was a loose in connection the phone always make "sim card registeration failed" and some other stupid errors .

best regards
