E65 (keypad not working) only off/on button - GSM-Forum

Sir,

My E65 suddenly started acting strange.

When you boot the phone up, everything appears to work but when you press the keypad - it doesnt work? The only buttons that work are the on/off button.

I have tried replacing the keyboard flex but the problem remains.

I took it to 3 (UK) and they said as the phone is 2 years old, time to upgrade. I dont want to..

Can anyone help please?

Does the handset sometimes respond and work ok, then othertimes it fails?
An intermittent fault?
If you have replaced the flex and problem is still evident - you must REPLACE the Keypad IC - thats the middle one of the three. Its part number is Z4402 and will 100% sort your problem out.
Most serious repairers will do this but the "quick bucks" shops will not.

You say that you are on 3 network in UK - i would perhaps stay with the firmware that your phone has because a lot of the generic flashes are problematic and the Planet3 service doesnt always work... so be careful!
Just do a search and you will see what others think.
