N70 White Screen - GSM-Forum

Hi, I hv this N70 which was dropped and the screen had cracked. Now I changed the screen but phone doesn't boot up and only the screen lights up( white screen). The phone doesn't switch off either. ny solution guys??????????

flash your phone with the latest firmware using jaf or hwk

Have you tried it before? I dont think it will work because the phone lcd is just white and it does not access to the main menu at all. it cannot make any call at all.

well isolating the problem is directly telling the display ic but still other info will help the case. if the phone can call emergency call it mean the lcd and the display properties is concern. but if can't make a call it means that the phone is having a problem on its software, omap, ram, rap3g.......

This is a good answer but how do we know exactly what is faulty How can we troubleshoot it??

base on the history the unit is dropped change the lcd but the phone didn't response on switching off. it means that the programs is not responding so the phone must need to test it capability to comunicate with the computer and how responsive it is. need to read the phone with jaf to assest the damage and certain information neede...

Yeh Robz and u guys are right da phone doesn't respond to any software, so I think changing the display IC wont help. seems to me that some BGA IC has cracked or damaged but the question is which one??????????? I hv no clue????? can someone help

Display signal comes from OMAP, if board is busted/bent better quit.

It seems most likely its the rap3g is the problem. I will get to it and will post reply tommorow.

the post by h.com should be the prob... most of n70
white screen tat cant access to menu cause by tis 10pin diode prob...in tis
case changing display diode wont help... especially cant read by any s/w... i've solve lot of them but not 100%
cuz till now i still got 2 of them inside my drawer waititng for new solution..
reheat the diode and read wit jaf or ufsx or any tools for nk see whats happen.. if can be read u should kno wat to do replace the diode ..

your solution is working , on liquid damege or droped phones those showing white light ( if its Vcore ic dameged ).if it is same problem after shorting its OMAP is dameged .It is intersting that most of phones working with out any problem , if we removed Vcore ic and short ( make jumper ) it , i tried it on 7610 , 6230 phones , not same different jumper for each phone . ....
