Nokia 6111 dead due to charging - GSM-Forum

hi
i got 6111 the guy told me he connected the charging wires other way around (+ to gnd ?) and phone was like that for about 2 hours
if i put new battery , phone is turning on and can make calls , when you charge phone become real hot and the ndead again.
if you take battery out for long time you can turn phone on again.
maybe a bad component ? what to check ?

didnt thouched the phone yet ... as all charging components are not the same as other nokia phones
there is a cristal IC with 4 points there , maybe its a fuse or something ?
weird is , if phone stay without battery for a while , i can put battery and charge it till it get hot and dead again

You need to strip the handset and find which I.C is cooking.Plug charger in, and if you cannot tell which ic is hot, put it to your cheek or lips [ but not straight away in case you burn your skin!!] .If it is the UPP, or UEM, try flowing it, but you are most likey either replacing the IC, if it's not glued, or yes you may actually have to buy a new one -Sorry..

i've got few 6111 has the same prob... all of them already tried PA... nothing to do wit it... ueme very hot.. when charge... and when u use power supply to check u'll kno why the phone can charge but will off....and ueme are glued... but sometimes other part prob can produce heat to ueme as well..
if any of ur expert got solution pls... share..
