Nokia 7600. Big problem, need help!

I have no signal at all and can't connect to my operator. It started last night and I thought I'd just leave it and it'd be fine in the morning but obviously not. There is no signal at all and when I select my operator manually it says "NO NETWORK ACCESS".

I have an O2 "Genie" Sim (300 free text a month, pay as you go) and it works in other phones I've tried it in, including another 7600 so I'm guessing it must be the phone because my brother's sim doesn't get any signal either in it. The Nokia help desk just referred me to a repair shop but I'd rather see if I can get it fixed myself first. Any ideas at all?
Regards x

(I bought the phone new so it isn't blacklisted)

youve not really given us much to go on. Was it originally an O2 phone or was it on another network, was it dropped? was it working with O2 then stopped overnight? if so has someone played with the settings?

Sorry. It was originally locked to 3, bought at least 8 months ago. I unlocked it and it has worked fine since. It was dropped Sunday night and stopped working a few hours later that night but I don't know it that's to do with it being dropped. What I find strange is : If I put another sim card into it, when I switch it on I get signal for about 10 seconds then it dies again. Then upon putting my sim back in the same happens.
It doesn't happen if I turn it on and off without changing sims though...just no signal from the start.

I recieved a text the night it was dropped and then on trying to text back a couple of hours later it failed then the signal died and havn't had any since. Noone has messed with the settings.
Hope this helps.

I phoned Threepay and they wouldn't tell me if it was blacklisted or not but O2 said they would get back to me in 24-48 hours. I don't really see why it would be unless threepay somehow did it. All such a pain in the backside.

sounds like the drop could have damaged it although 7600 bought from carfonewarehouse usually have part of menu hidden and when you put O2 sim causes conflict unless fone is set to gsm (in hidden menu) Try to borrow 3 usim and see if works ok with that. If it doesnt then fone is damaged, if it works ok then you need to set to gsm.
