Is oscilloscope worth using ?

I bought oscilloscope to help me in repairing. I read Nokia service manuals( repaire hints) for Nokia 3310. I was looking forward to using oscilloscope hoping I will get more or less the same results as Nokia manual says for good/bad phones. For example I should measure signals on SIM card pad but I can not get them. Must I use Wintesla first to set up a mobile to a measuring state?
Or what must I do to get the similar results as Nokia manual says? Thanks for help.

you need a 3310 panel jig, for testing sim signals, (very pricey jig).
as for oscilloscopes, you can check the clocks on all phones, 26Mhz and 32Khz, sim signals and much more.

I have jig, but I can not get the same results as I should according service manuals. Did you get the same reults( pictures on oscilloscope) as the service manual says? Or just only "similar"?

Yes, it is true, the signals are not 100% identical like in the picture... because you don't have that nice, expensive tools they used for that manual.

better take an good working phone and check the signals and then compare with the faulty phones, to have an idea how good signal it's look.

And yes, you have to use Serv SW to set phone in Local or Test mode and to perform specific operation and then to check with Osciloscope acording to serv manual.
