I forgot,
befor you replacing BGY, you should check soft. by some nok. tools, try to recalc. secur. checksums or flash with full (with eep.) and calcul. secur. checksums and locks to eliminate soft. problems.
If your phone log to network and lost network and restart, it is probably soft. problem (wrong checksums)

good luck

Reheating COBBA also helps. Customers drop thier phones in most cases.

I have one, change diplexer (was bad) BGY, dualsaw filters , reheat cobba, ccont, hagar, change 26MHz VCO and nothing changed.
Phone can switch on, but can't get on network (soft is ok).
I think it can be in power way to rf parts, but I don't know where I need to meansure voltage (on witch component??).
Thank You!!!!

Flashman,

rehot or reheat will not help so much !

best way to do , step by step to measure all point you need !

SW :wintesla ( DCT3),phoenix (DCT4)
tester: oscilloscope !

you have to test all power supply from ccont !
then use SW to enable RF control, and go to test "IP/QP" from hager to COBBA !

Farry,

1: use test jig !
2: if you do not have test jig, then you solder a 10K ohm resistor from BSI pin to GND , and give 4V to Vbatt ! then you power up your phone without battery !

For test points use service manual, as for test interface, this is part of original Nokia equipment, it's a special interface on which you can put a bare board. Interface supplies power and also have a lot of nails that touch test points on which you can get your information.

Srtrech,

Phone B, use oscilloscope to check Hager to VCO loop ! and see VTX from CCONT, and TXC from COBBA working or not ! then Check PA output level and TXVDET to Hager then Antenna switch !

phone A, check Vbb for Hager and remember have "load " for TX , and test it again ! and reball COBBA ! then see that RX IP/QP !

Willy

ps.
sorry Srtrech , i make mistake for that URL .
I send to you by mail !
