1) this is the uBGA net (stencil) with open container of soldier paste,

2- soldier paste: written on lid : advanced quality, joint high density high immersion,
Its like in a solid form when cold, but when i heat it with gun or put soldier iron
into it it becomes a thick liquid.(paste) u can heat this in the tin forever it does
not seem to becomming soldier, when leave to cold it becomes hard again.

Keep the stencil
Throw the other paste in the garbage and then go to www.warton-metals.co.uk and buy some high quality solder paste/flux etc

Dave.W 10-21-2005 13:53

sorry sir, but that container is not solder paste... it is solder FLUX...

this you apply on board/ic before making the soldering. it helps the solder to flow once melted...

They are useless anyway. He probably will make more damage if he uses it.

aha... knew i was doing something wrong, thanks for the update peoples.
time to go shopping ! :D

willy 10-21-2005 18:46

you have others selections ....

use TIN BALL !

leosedf 10-21-2005 18:59

But he needs to buy a special stencil kit for solder ball use :)

silveraxe 10-22-2005 16:04

is the stencil i showed in the attachement for use with soldier paste only??
Do i have to get another stencil now to use the balls, cos the balls i managed to get are written 0.4 and 0.5 do these have different stencils & how do i make sure which stencil is for paste and which for balls....

I prefer solder paste. works better for me, if you practice you will get it fast enough

Could you please give a name of good solder paste? I also purchase reballing kit made in china and never made it... then finally i'm using thin ball.

Solder Paste Solder Paste (Grey) R 28.07 R 32.00

this is what stands on my order sheet, ask for soldier paste grey, with a mud texture,

secondly, are u applying paste balls to stencil then heating while in stencil or removing the stencil then heating...??

I've tried both, heating first and heating after removing and the result is not good. I've read in the forum that the correct method is heating the paste while in stencil.
