all you need is WD40 and silicon contact cleaner.

spray it inside the pcb [wd 40] to displace water. 3-5 hours, sparay it with the silicon contact cleaner to displace the WD40. tehn try powering it after 5 hours.

if not, bring it to nokia to have some parts changed

Hello guys,

I beg to disagree with the use of WD40 or any oil based substance on the board. By the time you use your hot air rework station, some solders will fall apart when there id presence of oil.

Metallurgical properties of lead indicates that lead gets repelled by oil.

Anyway, the best recommendation I can give is simply wash the board with soap and running water. Use an old toothbrush and brush the board if necessary. Whatever you do, do not let it dry by itself! Thats the time corrosion occurs if you let it to dry by itself. The best way is to dry it using your SMD rework station with air set to max and heat set to min. Do not use flux.

I have used this method on less than 1000 phones but since it never failed me once, I believe you can try it too. Good Luck.

Best regards,

Muscleman

if your phone falls and gets wet...immediately shut it off...don't let it ring or else it will be shorted...hot air is sometimes bad for the health...
