How can i check sw version if iphone is locked? Guess no way. Only solution for user lock - upgrade via iTunes.

No need to upgrade!
You can use IMEI to check iPhone A-Model and check if your device is supported on https://iremove.tools or use online imei check service like https://imei.tools
