Question LEO Download Tool use

Thanks for the update

I'm trying to connect my LG KM335 with the attached OEM cables that came with the phone, to use LEO Download Tool to flash it with a newer firmware.

I followed instructions from the web which says upon launching the program, to:

1) Select the COM port
2) Load the .pcs firmware file via Settings
3) Hold down the END key on the phone until the flash sequence initiates

As for my case, holding the END key only switches off the phone (since the END key is used to power on and off this model of cellphone).

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Kenshiro

1. You need a USB to COM Serial Converter service cable with correct pinout. (don't know which one you got, may be only USB cable. If it converts USB to COM then great).
2. The phone should be powered off when you connect to the cable.
3. After selecting firmware and click start when the software says waiting.... press the power button and keep pressing till the downloading agent is finished.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info! I was misinformed, having read on elsewhere that the factory USB cable that came with the phone will work with firmware flashes (as with other models such as the Renoir KC910).

Could you kindly point me to where I can find / purchase such cable, and describe to me how it looks like? I tried to search for an image of the said cable on Google with no luck..

You mentioned having a correct pinout.. could you please also tell me what that is, and how I can identify the correct pinout?

I'm sorry for asking these novice questions

I'm currently in Hong Kong visiting my father, hopefully I'd be able to find the said COM cable in local accessories markets, and flash his phone (the KM335) before I leave

Thanks you nasirahmed and others for your helpful inputs!
