Member: 465557 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | hello and thanks for the response Hello and thanks for the reply, following a long time looking around the internet I found suggestions of reading the eeprom, it took ages to work out which chip was the eeprom and I have found out a programmer that I orignally purchased from Jaycar electronics to originally program pic chips. I dont mean to sound stupid and apologise for my ineptitude and that put to one side, I am a complete novice at this (reading eeproms), am I likely to cause any damage to the components on the mainboard of the stereo by reading the eeprom or is it supposed to be desoldered? Would I be right in thinking that the clock from the programmer runs to the scl, data from the programmer runs to the sda, ground runs to wp and pins 1,2,3,4 and 5 volt live runs to vcc with a capacitor to ground? I would appreciate any advice to learn how to read this eeprom without destroying my radio! thank you Garry |
