This is solved. Another user helped me in other thread. About this trouble specifically (how to read) I did it as 24c08 how you said here, and adapted it to my eeprom programmer (JDM) in a very crappy mode yeah, but it worked excellent. Didn't find another way to adapt it better and easier with the things I had here. Picture attached.

Thanks !

(Also, later did I realize I didn't need to connect all the wires, but I'm a beginner student, didn't know that :/ )

VW MFD1 Decoding

I hope you have managed to connect +12V, SAFE and Ground.
More details on how to connect the VW MFD available here (scroll down): VW MFD Navigation System -

Firstly there must be some kind of Programmer, serial preferably that you can use to read eeprom from MFD. If you don't have the programmer stop reading this text as it is the most neccessary TOOL to unlock your VW MFD

The programmer doesn't neccessarily need to be FIS. Any programmer that can read PIC 24CXX will do.

Second, you must connect SDA and SDL pins (see details here) to the PIC24CXX Socket on the programmer. So basically you must know where is SDA and SDL pin on the programmer for the PIC 24C32 socket.
Normaly the socket is the place to put the PIC24C32 eeprom in order to read/write it.
So in order to find SDA and SDL pins and conncet them to corresponding SDA and SDL pins on the MFD Motherboard you can refer to 24C32 datasheet.
Here is an example of the 24C32 eeprom with SDA and SCL Pins:

Connect SDA pin from the VW MFD Motherboard to SDA pin of the 24C32 Socket and do the same for the SDL.
Very important:
find the 5V pin on the VW MFD Motherboard and bring externaly +5V in order to power the eeprom so it can be read.
Bring the ground from the programmer to ground (chasis) of the VW MFD.

Once you connected everything power on the VW MFD.

Start ICPROG.EXE program in order to read the EEPROM content. Select 24C32 and read it.
You should the progress bar and after it some garbled (hyerogliphs).
Among the content of the text (most right column of the ICPROG.EXE Screen) you should see some text like (scroll down) 3B0035186 which shows correct reading of the eeprom. If you can see this than save the result into a file and post it here for "Code reading".

If you got your reading as hyerogliphs without 3B0035186 than your reading is incorrect and there is no 5V supply provided on your MFD Motherboard which your 24C32 EEPROM needs to operate so you can read its content. Also it could mean that your eeprom is fried (read DEAD) and needs replacemet. If this is the case you must find .bin file that have correct eeprom configuration with CODE that you can use for your eeprom programming.

Good luck

If your device doesn't fit your programmer then you'll need an adapter
like this one from e-Bay.
