Exclamation How to flash Sharp GX15(Vodafone Firmware) [Looking for non-vodafone firmware!]

Hello everyone,

I have been searching the net for info on how to remove Vodafone menus and stuff out of this phone. There are restrictions on file sizes and the whole software is crapped up with Vodafone's logos and settings. It's quite annoying if the owner of this phone is not a Vodafone user.

The origin of this problem is due to phone being branded by Vodafone, thus this phone comes with Vodafone's crappy firmware.
The best way to get rid of this problem is by flashing the phone's firmware. The only problem is that it is difficult to find (if there are any) a non-Vodafone firmware file for the GX15.

So far I have flashed this phone with the following 3 firmwares:
-A02-007-0185-GX15.MOT
-A02-007-0186-GX15.MOT
-A24-007-0213-GX15U.MOT
ALL OF THESE 3 ARE VODAFONE FIRMWARES! (doh'!)

There is another firmware (A07-007-0156-GX15.MOT) which I haven't tested yet. This is because I couldn't load it using the Sharp GX15 Upgrading Tool. Probabbly it needs to be loaded by another flash loader. Anyone has another flash loader for GX15 specifically for this file please post a simple link.

To flash it, the following things are needed:

-The GX15 Upgrading Tool (Can be downloaded from here)
-USB Data Cable with charging function (Can be bought from here)
-A .MOT Firmware File
-And the servicing manual for instructions if needed

How it is done?

-Install The GX15 Upgrading Tool Software and the GX15 Upgrading Tool USB Driver for the USB data cable.
-Switch off phone, remove battery and SIM Card
-Connect it via USB
-Run The Upgrading Tool and choose the location of the .MOT firmware file
-Tick the Port used by the system for USB. Tick Program Download and File System Initialize.
-Click Start Loading Flash

For other technical info you may have a look at the Sharp GX15 Servicing Manual

NOW... Anyone who finds flash files for this mobile other than the 4 mentioned above please contribute to this forum. Thanks.

I am downloading another flash file: A02-007-0230-GX15.MOT which is taking bloody ages...
Will put it on my website as soon as I get all of it... Hopefully this would be a Christmas present from Santa if it's a non-vodafone firmware.

*fingers crossed*

There IS a non-vodafone firmware (A25-007-0197-GXL15.MOT [Russian market firmware name]) for this phone... The following review shows the design of the firmware.

GX25 has a different firmware than GX15 due to being a different phone with different components... If you find firmwares for GX25, have a USB data cable for flashing it and the necessary flashing software utility, then you can...

Lightbulb

A friend of mine who tried the A07-007-0156-GX15.MOT firmware out told me it is a vodafone-firmware... so don't be dissappointed peeps

However I am not going to give up hunting for the non-vodafone-firmware for the GX15... It's out there somewhere!!
