Post About reading eeprom of R200 by cable.

Hi to all.I found these pins:
keyboard up,left to right
7 - power of eeprom +3V - probably for processor
8 - GND
12 - SDA
13 - SCL
You can`t read eeprom of R200 with usual soft for eeprom reading, because eeprom is adressed with pins 1 and 2 conected to +5V.

try to read it WITHOUT battery!
And for Vcc use V under
2.4V (if you use over - you will power on MCU and will cannot read eeprom).

That's all.

Try it and tell me what happens

Hi all!
Smooter is RIGHT!
EEPROM can be read with modified Ponyprog or with Elnec eeprom programmer. Standard serial (COM) Ponyprog can not read this because COM port can not work at 2,4V logical levels.
Modified Ponyprog can read and write at 2.0V and work correctly.
Elnec works perfect. For Elnec users: use VCC form pin 8 of EEPROM's socket.
Best regards
Assen

Wink

Does anyone has a solution to read the EEPROM without opening the phone? Don't tell me to buy a JIG box.

Talking

Someone post the I2C modified cable to read the R200's EEPROM with a connector.
We already know the pinouts and Vcc. All you have to know to finally read the phone's EEPROM is the right schematics.

Hi to all!
Last few days we made some experiments with Samsung R2x0 and I2C cable for it. Here are the results:

PONYPROG RESULTS

With Ponyprog it is very difficult to read eeprom from these phones. In fact, programmer can read and write at very low voltages, but only eeprom, not in phone. When trying to read in phone Err 13 occures, i.e. error initialising device, or device missing.

MODIFIED PONYPROG
This is modified ponyprog by us. It uses two MAX232 intarface ICs and 74HC14 logic for bufering eeproms. Sometimes this programmer reads correct, but in most cases same result Err 13.
After analysing results and some tests with scope, we find, that it is very important moment of applying VCC to eeprom. This can not be done with Ponyprog and modified Ponyprog

ELNEC and compatible PROGRAMMERS
All tests are OK. No problems with reading even some errors found at verify pass. EEPROM is always correct read. There are some problems for writing back, but who cares at this time.

We prepare some pieces of Elnec compatible programmer for selling. For more info soon in advertising forum.

Best regards
Assen

Hi.
This solution work fine with ponyprog (not modified). Use only SCL SDA GND (ponyprog) and external 3v. conectend directly on Samsung port, and read eeprom with IC-PROG. PonyProg programm don`t read by this metod.

Thanks ALL for help.
