Cannot read R210S EEPROM (only zeros) - NEED HELP! - GSM-Forum

I was trying to read a Samsung R210S EEPROM with IC-Prog. I used two 1,5V batteries (there are new). IC-Prog is configured to use JDM Programmer, via COM1 and EEPROM type as 24C256. I click on the Read All button and it starts reading the EEPROM, but when it finishes there are only zeros in the buffer. Why this is happening? Can anyone help me?

Hi,

I have unlocked 8 r210s til now by eeprom. I read all bin-files throug phone-connector, and also desoldered all eeproms and read with ponyrog. All files are compared, and matched 100 %. But i use 3.6 volt, when i use 3V somtimes all 0000000, or don't bin don't match with one read direct on eeprom.

You can also try settings for windows direct I/O, to API and vice versa.

Battery must be remove before reading !!

I tried different settings (I/O, API) and still reads empty EEPROM. I don't have a 3,6V DC source. I used 2 1,5V batteries. I think I must buy the factory cable available at ******'s.

i use simple easy ic2 cable, connent to lpt port !!!! i connent 3 cable to phone pin:

8-gnd 12-scl 13-sdl

i read with ponyprog2000, phone is on!!!With own battery.

this is the simple way, i think. after use payo's reader, to open bin.

I know why IC-Prog read only zeros on the EEPROM dump. The pinout on the I2C cable schematics image is wrong (should be left to right, and not right to left). With lpt easy ic2 cable + ponyprog!!!! solution is 1000000000000%

i dont remember, but it works, pone is on, and read!!!!!If you had eeprom dump, calculate nck with payos soft.
