Member: 202418 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I have followed all guides and everything seems to work... but... This is my story: First of all my hardware is a Motorola H500 BT Headset, the dongle is a "Microsoft Wireless Transceiver for Bluetooth". This is what i did: 1. Disabled the "original" windows prefered drivers for the dongle. 2. Extracted the install files for the Widcomm 3.0.1.912 setup. 3. Deleted the \svcpack\hp-t19a.dfu 4. Installed the software. 5. Booted in safemode copying the pathes that came along with this release (here from this forum). 6. Added my VID&PID to the btwusb.inf file. 7. Then I did "Update driver" on the "original" Windows-prefered (and by this time disabled BT Device) and chose my own device from the btwusb.inf file. 8. WOW EVERYTHING IS WORKING.... or is it? 9. When i search for nearby units it finds my Motorola H500 and it can communicate with it. 10. But when i chose "Connect" it connects, but not with the "Headset" alternative, but rather the "Audio Gateway". 11. This is very confusing to me, thus nothing is working, all I hear in my headset is a annoying sound (that i think is some sort of confirmation sound for a packet being sent or something because i can see that the sound comes every time that something is sent), I cannot use it as a headset, although i think it SHOULD work. 12. Sorry if this is an issue that has been handled before, I tried to look but found nothing. 13. Finally I just want to add that I have tried different versions of Widcomm drivers and software patches that goes with it, Billyx, I have tried yours, and I have tried later ones too, all works exactly like above.. Thanks for an answer. //Daniel |

Member: 215293 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Acer Ferrari 3200 CSR BT fw updated from rev.525 to rev 828 (how it worked for me) After reading some of the post from this thread, I finally successfully updated the firmware of my CSR Bluetooth device (Casira chipset) shipped with my Acer Ferrari 3200 notebook from version 525 to 828. Briefly: [1] Download Widcomm Bluetooth Driver and Software 5.0.1.801 (the last version I found): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2RELBI65 [2] Download the Patch for this version (otherwise it will ask a license file and will not work without): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D3PNIH7P [3] Download DFU Wizard 1.2 (firmware revision 828 included) (bc02x_4hci_bt1.1_16.14_encr56) (BT 1.1, 56-bit encryption) : http://59.120.191.21/drivers/1.4.2.11-N/dfu.zip [4] Uninstall any previous version of 'Widcomm Bluetooth Driver and Software' [5] Rename the file bth.inf to bth.bak in c:\windows\inf (if you have XP SP2; it does not exist in XP SP1) [6] Install [1] (Widcomm Bluetooth Driver and Software 5.0.1.801) [7] Copy [2] (Patch files for Widcomm Bluetooth Driver and Software 5.0.1.801): - reboot in Safe Mode - copy the patch files btneighbourhood.dll & wbtapi.dll in c:\windows\system32 - (accept replacing existing ones). - copy the patch files bttray.exe & btstackserver.exe in c:\program files\widcomm\bluetooth software - (accept replacing existing ones). - reboot [8] Unzip and Install [3] (DFU Wizard 1.2) (in FirmwareUpgrade1614\Software\) [9] I followed the steps described in FirmwareUpgrade1614\UserGuide\DFU Wizard User Guide.pdf but it didn't worked for me, so I updated the drivers in Device Manager for CSR USB Bluetooth Device with the ones found in FirmwareUpgrade1614\Driver\USB\: [10] Run BlueCore Device Firmware Upgrade Wizard installed at point [8] [11] Accept the installation of new hardware (for passing the device in DFU mode) [12] When it complained that "Either the BlueCore module or device driver doesn't support upload of the existing firmware. Would you like to continue with the download anyway?" I answered YES (actually this was an accident: I hoped that it will not update the firmware directly but first it will save the old firmware and after it will ask again if I really want to upgrade with the new one - when I thought to answer NOT - and to follow the advices that billyx gave on this site http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show...&postcount=138 So I accidentally accepted the upgrade even if the firmware, apparentely wasn't for my device and I get a succesfully upgrade message at the end... [13] After this, I uninstalled Widcomm Bluetooth Driver and Software 5.0.1.801 and reinstalled it like I did at [6] and [7], and verified and updated in Device Manager the driver for CSR USB Bluetooth device with version 5.0.1.801 (I don't know from what strange reason it kept installed the old version). That's All Folks ! Member: 234935 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | hi guys. newb to the site here. i bought a issc dongle off ebay. i've been reading and have managed to get wincomm installed and patched. ive installed the updated btwusb.inf file. i get the blue/white bluetooth icon in my system tray and wincomm seems to be working fine. however, wincomm say that it can not detect my dongle. in device manager it says the dongle is installed and working properly. any advice, perhaps i missed a step. thanks in advance noremacyug [edit]- to add to the confusion, i just went to the bluetooth setup wizard, and selected "i want to find a specific device and configure how this computer will use its service" and it found my imate jam. yet it still says "bluetooth device not detected" in the hardware tab in the configuration wizard. i hope someone can help cause im about to throw this dongle out in the road and power brake on it. |

Member: 89256 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hi, I just bought a nokia bluetooth headset (HDW-3). I have hooked it to my laptop via a bluetooth dongle. Unfortunately, I am not able to figure out how to make it work as a regular headset so I can use to do Voice Over Ip (with skype for instance) or to just listen for some regular music. I already went in the the "audio" tab of the "sound and multimedia properties" of my computer and selected the "Bluetooth audio" as my prefered "sound play back" device. Unfortunately, it does seem to work. Only the microphone seems to be recognized but not the playback capabilities (i.e. the speaker of the bluetooth headset). Am I missinh something..? Any help or pointer to a good website would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, |

Thanks in advance Last edited by yusufl; 06-12-2006 at 13:26. |
