Widcomm 5.0.1.1400 Hello everyone, I have managed to obtain a heavily customised version of Widcomm 5.0.1.1400 from ANYCOM. The reason i mention it's heavilly customised, it's cause the btwusb.inf file included only has support for their USB dongles. Everything else has been stripped out so in order for it to work with other dongles, just replace the VID and PID in there with the one from your own dongle and it should then work. I might also suggest to just use the btwusb.inf files from the previous .1200 release but i don't guarantee it will work ok.. I have tested the license.dat that Phantasm had made for the .1200 version and it does not work. It complains that we can't use a licence file that was designed for a previous version of Widcomm so unless he can make us another version for .1400, WinXP x86 64bit users are out of luck :( I then used the Widcomm V2 patcher that is mentioned in one of the previous threads and to my surprise, IT WORKS ! There is just one slight problem in that the little bluetooth icon that normally apears in the system tray is nowhere to be found. However, if one goes into "my bluetooth places" everything's there and working fine. Why i think this release is important : beacause it seems it's the only one that works with the new Plantronics 590 Pulsar headset as described here : http://bluetoothbob.atspace.com/Puls...WithAnycom.htm Here are the official fixes compared to previous 4.0.1.xxxx version as posted on the ANYCOM support forums : - Support for A2DP Profile as SNK - Support for A2DP Profile on Windows 98SE/ME - Support for Basic Printing Profile - Support for Windows XP x64 edition - Local PC can now be used as Bluetooth print server - Enhanced security Oh, and here's the link : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z2KWUOFF Enjoy :) Adi |
wowoweeeeee :) Keep up the good work dude! :D :D :D |

1 Attachment(s) The license.dat files are specific to a version of widcomm. Attached is the version that should work with this release. I got it working by doing the following: 1) Remove any previous widcomm installations 2) overwrite the btwusb.info from the previous 5.0.1.1200 version (in the win32 & win64 folders) 3) copy the license.dat in here over the license.dat in the anycom widcomm 5.0.1.1400 folder 4) Install anycom widcomm 5.0.1.1400 5) Make sure the drivers are installed correctly (eg. if the microsoft bluetooth drivers installed then update the driver to the correct widcomm driver) 6) Reboot That should do it. (Tested on both 32bit and 64bit installs) |
I got it to work using the ver.2 patcher, and modding the .inf thanx |

Can any of you peeps with WinXP 64bit test the licence file and confirm it works ? (it's about the only solution for 64bit windows for the moment..) Adi |
1400 works smoothly The Megaupload server was busy yesterday, so I D/L it this morning. Just replace the btwusb.inf with the one from .802 plus the V2 patch, now its working smoothly. There is one thing I have noticed. After updated from .802 to .1200, my BT mouse movement shows intermittent pause. Its kind of annoying. But this issue got fixed in .1400. |
Shut down issue! Just found out that my WinXP won't shut down properly now. Anyone has the similiar issue? |

Someone can give a link to this .inf file ? I would like it without dw the 1200 version if it's possible. If I unterstand this inf file it's the list of the devices supported by the drivers ? I've a D-Link DBT-122 do you know if this device is supported ? Thanks for your help ! Matthieu |
1 Attachment(s) Hi, here are the infs from 5.0.1.1200 i have included both from win32 and win64 directories (tey are probably the same but just in case!) :D Will |
thx you ! I'll post an update this evening when i'll be @home. Matthieu |
Has anyone managed to get these drivers to work with A2DP headphones? I still have the problem whereby the bluetooth connection seems to initiate but but terminates almost immediately thereafter. I used the btwusb.inf from the Widcomm 5.0.1.802 (after copying the header containing the version number from the new inf) for installation. The headset and com profiles seem to be working fine. The headphones I am using (Sonorix OBH0110) worked fine with the Widcomm 4.0.1.21 drivers which I was using before trying these drivers. I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks! |

Looks like the key reason why it disconnects is because a media player program is not running at the time the connection is established. Adi |
