hi

my friend was sent with a 1gb sony memory stick pro duo magicgate and it works fine with k750 and w800. but when trying to retrieve data with a pc and memory card reader, the pc hangs and can't read the MS. when brought back to the cellphone, it still works. we've tried it with different readers but no luck. the reader we used can read other memory stick pro and duo.

why is it so? how can i modify the card reader so it could read this MS as the cellphone does?

It must be a counterfeit memory stick, which has been distributed everywhere by our great Chinese fellows, ebay is full of these kind of memory stick scams.

but it works fine with the sony ericsson k750 and w800, and we have stored data at its full capacity, 989MB. so why is it like that?

Then most obviously your USB card reader is faulty, change it ...
