hello.. i just had the same thing happen with the backlight on my k750i today. bought the phone on ebay about 3 weeks ago. the thing was perfect.. not a scratch.

after not using the phone in ANY adverse conditions, today, i picked up the phone and the backlight would not come on. i turned off the phone and turned it back on.. the light came on, but only until it went to sleep. then it would not come back. after that, even turning it off and back on again, the backlight would not come on. I've taken the phone apart and can not find anything fishy looking around the LCD connector.. nothing obvious anyways.

any expert opinions??

"display connector or dcdc converter"

1. what is a dcdc converter?
2. are you saying that these are the probable causes of the problem?
3. is it not possible that the LCD itself is broken?

thanks for the reply.. thought i don't really like the prospect of taking a soldering iron to my phone. you don't think replacing the LCD will fix the problem?

you were right, changing the lcd didn't work.

so which option would you reccomend i try first, changing the LED driver, or soldering a new connection by the LCD connector? (i assume that picture above is of the LCD connector)

opo, good to hear someone has done this with success! if you would, could you please say:

1. how you obtained a replacement LED driver?
2. how did you install it?

I would VERY much appreciate knowing this. thanks.

I have the same issue my backlight for LCD is no longer working after replacing my camera and putting back together. copper clips are both in place. I did manage to get it lighting up at one point but even when it was it was super bright and you could not adujst the brightness in the menu. Now I can no longer get the backlight on at all.
Not sure if I am having the same LED driver issue or not. If so the soldering looks a little to fiddly for me.

Any other ideas?
