Exclamation NFC Problem Xperia S

I have a NFC issue with my LT26i. The thing is I had the whole NFC and SIM flex replaced and before I broke the original one the NFC had worked fine, even on ICS. Now, after I installed the new flex, the NFC function shows it's enabled but it doesn't detect anything. I freshly flashed the ICS ROM, nothing. Updated to JB, still nothing. Could the flex or the antenna have a problem? I doubt the antenna has a problem but the flex, even though it's new, it could have some issues and it's not genuine.

The service test has a line "no NFC SIM detected". I read that this is a normal thing.

A 4 pin chip near the microUSB port came off the PCB once and I have no idea what it's for. Searched for a schematic but no luck.

Can someone help me with this issue? Thanks!

Pcb

Below, there's a pic of the PCB with a red arrow marking the missing chip.
