Is it at all possible to charge a Motorola via the Smart Cilp ?

Well I don't think so in order that cable function is for read info not charge. I think you want to use this on some V550 and V980/e1000 phones because V· start charging if you just connect the phone to a normal usb and V180 are not using miniusb to charge...

I think it's really difficult.

It would be handy to have a feature like that. I have a V980 here I can't unlock it because the battery is too low. I have two Moto chargers but none of them will work with the phone. I did charge a C975 with one of the charges so I'm thinking it might be the phone or the V980 uses a different power level for charging

?

I think it's just the smae maybe the connector it's too used(strange in a new phone) and that why you can't charge it because Motorola 3g phones are charging with old chargers(only power off by themselves and function is charge only...)

you have to use a835 charger for v980/e100/a100.
with a normal charger phone will auto shutdown and then charge.
