A bit like bolting the door after the horse has bolted. can you take a picture of the damaged chipos and i will look for you which is which- but i cannot think which are talking about . in all honesty i think that you will have to purchase a new one- but it is such an valuble product i would think that you would get your money back rather quickly especially with the new updates and supported phones. |

Member: 16494 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 6 | Just had a look a the pcb in my smart clip.....Smart Clip has reverse voltage protection built in. Looks like all you have done is burnt out the 2 x 1 ohm resistors and/or the reverse protection diode (probably gone short cct) at the power input. Any competent tech would be able to put that right for a few squids ...easy peasy ! EDIT: most certainly it's the two resistors (1 ohm) that u refer to that have burnt out if u only used a low current adaptor then diode is probably ok This IS part of the protection circuit !! |

Member: 16494 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 6 | Ooh dear I'm sure you can source 2 x 1 ohm 1/2 watt resistors locally !!! if not take them out of something else old m8 ........ ! (or a 0.5 ohm 1 watt will do) Edit: If diode faulty ...USE anything better than 200 PIV @ 1 AMP Last edited by Faxman; 01-18-2005 at 22:35. |
