Dell XPS 1710 - GSM-Forum

Just bought Dell XPS 1710. I didn't pay attention to port information when i bought this laptop and after my pcmcia to lpt arrived and tried to place it in the slot i came to the constation that i have an expresscard instead of pcmcia

does anyone has a solution to have an lpt port on my laptop???

Hi,

I have the same problem as u. I bought a cable (lpt to usb) but doenst work. They create a Usb Printing Support. But Not lpt1. I guess we need to use pcmcia...
What did u do? Did u fix it?

Smartboy, this card doenst work with this laptop.

Dell XPS M170
Express card slot

* Please note that this system has a ExpressCard slot and support the ExpressCard format only. This system does not have a PCMCIA card slot.

No sollution yet. I informed and they are beta testing PCMCIAexpress to lpt for the moment. Should release in near future. Guess the only sollution for the moment is buying a docking station.

found a docking station on ebay also from supplier in germany
