Unlocking A1000 doesn't work...

I try to unlock a A1000 but it doesnt work.

I connect the cable - it says "USB cable connected", but it just reboots after a few seconds, even when i don't press the unlock button.

"Within 5-10 seconds phone display gives "Waiting for PST" message."
That message doesn't appear...

What is wrong? Should i connect battery or normal power supply to Smart-Clip?

Btw, isn't the cable supposed to lock? For some reason it only locks in at the right side - i have to hold the other side with my hands. The cable is good - i have used it on an other phone before.

A1000 unlock

What ver is your smart clip???

you should upgrade it,

And even if not show you "waiting for pst", you should press A & B, because some models not show this message.

If the cable is not staying in, make sure the connectors on the phone are good.. If they are broken or corroded, you may not be able to communicate properly with the phone.

Clip is v2.04. I'll try upgade it to 2.05 - but i dont think this problem is related to clip, since the unlocking doesnt even start.

But do i need external power adapter for the clip when unlocking this phone?
If i use an power adapter - will the phone charge? Cause i think the battery on the phone isn't full, but i don't have a charger for it...
On E398 i needed to remove battery while unlocking it. Do i need to that on this phone too? Does a E398 charger work on A1000?

Sweden Mobile: I have tried pressing A and B, but nothing happens.

evan_silbert: I don't think the cable is the problem. It looks good, and it "feels" to be okay if i just hold it connected. The problem is just that it doesnt clip on on one of the sides. Very weird...

I have tested some more, and it just doens't work.

When i connect the cable, it says "USB cable connected", and it reboots (showing the moto animation first). It reboots regardless of whether i press the unlock button or not.

Is it possible to unlock using RJ-45 cable?

Smile

I have done a few of these.
Using same method as A920/A925 (Using USB Cable RS-V60 cable conneted to bottom of handset)
1. Power phone on
2. Connect phone to powered clip (I always use a dc adapter to power clip) Phone will give USB connected message.
3. Press unlock button on clip
4. Phone reloads. Within 5-10 seconds phone display gives "Waiting for PST" message.
5. Press A and B keys simultaneously in upper part of handset. (The phone enters boot mode)
6. If you don't press those keys during "Pst" led will give red E/G you'll have to start again.
7. After A/B buttons have been pressed E/G green led will blink & phone reboots.
Meanwhile E/G will give frequent green blinking and phone will turn on .

Don't disconnect from smart-clip while green led is blinking.
8. Green E/G Led glows > UNLOCKED

I hope this helps as I have done this a few times & works a treat.

I have tried many times - but it just doesn't work...

But is the phone supposed to reboot automaticly when inserting cable? It happens even when i don't press the unlock button. And when pressing the unlock button - shouldn't the screen just turn black, without showing the shutdown animation?

Btw, what does blinking red LED on A1000 mean? Does that indicate that the phone has low battery? I don't understand it - sometimes it says battery is "high" and sometimes it says "low". but it seems to blink red even when its high.

YEEESSS!!!!

Finally it worked!!! I haven't been quick enough before... I had to press the A and B instantly when the phone turned black (too late when screen turned on again).

Actually i forgot to press the unlock button, so the phone automaticly rebooted, i pressed the A and B, an then the "Waiting for PST" message appeared. THEN i pressed the unlock button.

Maybe this should be cleared a little up in the support instructions...

Anyway, Thanks for helping guys!
