I've got NEC e808 and when I put 3 simcard in it, it says 'reading data' and no anything next just reading data.

any one can help ?

i also have the same problem but im trying to downgrade it to v0.3 after which i will do unlock by the way do anybody have solution for v0.4 unlocking as downgrading is really difficult and does not take effect some nec

Hi, I know this thread is a bit old and I am taking my chances here. I really badly need to have the "e313 PC File Transfer Tool". I managed to find the driver but now I am missing the transfer tool to save a few videos that I captured on my e313 nec phone a very long time ago. Thanks, your help will be most appreciated

I have spent the last couple of weeks combing through this forum trying to get 3 E808 devices unlocked.

I made my own serial cable, no luck. I modified a RJ45 cable to use with my Furious Gold box, no luck. The only solution was to modify a serial E350 serial cable. Just looked up the pinout of the cable and took Ground , TX and Rx from it.

There is no normal cable solution, only Test point like this:

I tried the NEC WCDMA Exxx tool but it din to work for me. Tried it with both Windows XP and 98. The connection is correct because the phone software version is recognised but when I hit Unlock I only get "****, something wrong..." message. I tried different cables here with both test points but no luck.

Then I tried Furious NEC with TP at the 5V point as shown in the photo. The procedure is this:

Sim card out, serial cable in with 9V battery connected, Battery in, click Unlock, when program says Press PWR, hold the phone's power key until the program says Remote battery, then disconnect the phone battery and is unlocked.
Here is what il looked like:

Before unlock the phone was stuck at the start screen saying USIM Reading data if a Three SIM was inserted or Incorrect SIM if other SIMs were tried.

Now is unlocked but only very old 2G Sims will let the phone boot up. Per example I have a very old Orange SIM that works, but if I put a more recent Orange one that says 3G on it, it will be stuck at Reading data..

Now I noticed in the phone's menu in the Networks section, there is a list with old known networks like Orange, BT Mobile etc. I think that when a SIM is inserted, the phone will try to find the SIM ID in that list and if it's not there it will get stuck. I think since 2003 the network ID got changed and that list is obsolete. There is an option to add more networks to the list using the MCC and MNC codes for your specific SIM. I tried that but still can't get past the boot screen with any modern SIM.

So even though the phone is unlocked, it can't be used unless you still have an active SIM card from 15 years ago.

It is an improvement though. Now you can use the device and it's features, apart from phone calls and texts, if you have some old SIM. Before it was just stuck at the boot screen, so I guess it's something.

Was it worth all the hours and brain damage it took to do this? Not really.

Upon reading a bit about SIM card history, it looks like the E808 phone is scanning for a card in USIM format. The problem is that most networks nowadays use a UICC format which acts both as SIM and USIM, but this phone is unable to figure that out and keeps trying to read the USIM. Oh, well...
