Nec E616v cannot be unlocked by codes
 

I live in Malta and my sister in-law sent my wife a e616v for her birthday. The phone is useless here for we do not have 3. I sent an e-mail on her name to 3 requesting if they can unlock the phone.


Hi, I live in Malta and my sister sent me a nec e616v for my birthday. The only problem is that I can't use it over here on my vodofone simcard, what can I do to be able to use it.

Thank you for contacting 3.

Unfortunately we are unable to meet your request for the handset to be unlocked.

This service is subject to charge, and can only be undertaken on request of the registered owner of the handset and while the handset is in the U.K..

If the phone have to be in the U.K. It indicates that they have to have the phone in there hands in order to unlock it. If that is not so, and they wont to be helpful they can ask for a check, imei and what ever and they will send the code.

they dont need the phone to unlock it they can sell you the unlock code £115 , yes thats what they charge due to them subsidising the phone in the first place .

Just send it to an unlocker advertising in the main sales section
