BlackBerry Smart Tool v1.0.0493 'ERR_MSG: Can't run loader !' - GSM-Forum

Please FG team help with this issue.

Alot of us on this forum are having issues while using 'BlackBerry Smart Tool v1.0.0493'

we all seem to be ending up with:

Searching for usb device ...
Booting usb device ...
ERR_MSG: Can't run loader !
Time needed - 00:00:26

this seems to come up whether we are trying to change IMEI/PIN, clear branding...

we are all (those who have this problem) getting this after the Progress Bar gets to the end of the screen. Also the handset is turned off (no LEDs flashing) and we all expect it to then turn back on but it doesnt until after we have received the error message and disconnected the handset.

we are all expecting the dialogue to pop up asking where the sfi file is located but it never does.

please help.

this issue seems to exist for 8220, 8900, 9500 & 9530

I believe you will help alot of people if you resolve this.

... BTW i know the way to get the sfi file from the FW installed on our handset is as follows...

Q: MY BLACKBERRY ONLY SUPPORTED BY SLOW METHOD UNLOCKING
BUT NO SUCH A SFI VER. ON SUPPORT AREA

1. download & install same FW ver. of your BLACKBERRY
2. find your SFI in 1 of these paths
e.g. 8310
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8310-v4.5.0.52_P2.7.0.66\GPRS
e.g. 9000
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9000-v4.6.0.144_P4.0.0.143\UMTS

this is not the problem,

the problem is we cannot get to the stage where the tool will ask for the sfi.

you cant use slow method on the 8220, 8900, 9500 & 9530. if you could then you would also be able to change imei/pin number remove branding etc..

currently can only do a fast code read and it always doesnt work

sorry i guess we are all waiting for a BlackBerry Smart Tool update

This is long overdue and since last update no new update from FT as regards Furious berry sw....

lots of posting and asking on this yet no response.

I hope something is done in earnest before it is release for free as we waited for sw

only to be released through mfi program before we receive what we paid for and rendered the business unprofitable.

Same for me... "can't run loader!" when I'm trying to unlock 8900 using slow method. Any solution?

NEW MODELS AREN'T SUPPORTED FOR SLOW MODE OERATION. YOU CAN ONLY READ CODES. THAT'S ALL !
