sfi files what for?


Sorry for my stupid question what is sfi files why do I need this, what is the use of this files if I just need to read codes from blackberry or in what cases I need sfi files

Well Denisirias, the SFI files are used to:
[*] Repair BB[*] Slow unlock method (When fast fails or you prefer Direct unlock)[*] Change BBPin, IMEI and other options[*] ...

About SFI files you have to check version in your BlackBerry and Platform version. In order to success both numbers must be the same as the numbers of the SFI file

thanks for your answer looks like this is the way you guys call the flash file of the phone one more question is there any specific folder where i should put this files or not please let me know exact location where files should be in

WEll it's more or less like the flash files. It would be more exactly as the MAIN in SonyEricsson or MCU in Nokia. And there is no need to be in an specific folder.

sfi files

hi product supporter.

if i am just wishing to use the read codes function and unlock using the codes, do i still need to use the sfi file.

and also is the new bb 8900 (curve) supported. thanks.

No, if you just want to read codes use Fast code read. If fails you will need SFI file and work on slow mode

i am trying to find sfi files for the new bb curve the bb 8900 but i cant find any is it possible to post some here or on the support site.

why after i chane imei on bb 8310 with correct sfi,phone changed imei but no internet icon on phone,i do 8100 pearl same thing,no internet browser ,any experience this problem?

if you are trying to make phone browse the internet you need also to change pin too and register phone in your service provider database

i have a bb bold with data plan but the internet browser,its comes to the EDGE,and registration message,but when u go to the option-advance option-browser,its stuck at the hot spot browser, is there anyway out of this,i need help urgently.

Weird, try to update firmware and check that with RIM guys as has nothing to do with unlocking and phone seems to be running. Smells like a software bug
