Unhappy Compatibility issue witn TMS 2.41

Dear Supporter,

Does the Total Multi Server v.2.41 work on Windows Vista, or will it run on Windows XP SP2 flawlessly??

I m trying to unlock my Sony K310i on a Total Mulit Server with the Cruiser UC-10 Universal USB cable.

I am having problem of using the TMS software server, but the main thing about the problem is i can't select the cable type & port setting in the menu; it did not show up anything. All I have is a blank drop down menu box!! It should be a "COM 3" port setting that supposed to be a connection of the Cruiser UC-10 Universal USB cable

I have tried to disable some security features such as Windows Firewall and McAfee Anti-virus software in Windows Vista. And that still didn't work at all!

Please someone help on this.

Many thanks.

Best regards,

Yau

Please run the TMS software on Windows XP only. Not tested 100% on Vista.

Sounds like you havent installed the drivers for your cable correctly ?

Same thing here...but...

I'm running Vista (retail version) 32 Bit. The software loaded and runs fine. You do need to go into Vista setting and allow the CLIENT software to run under "Windows XP SP2" Compatibility mode. (That is right click on the Client.exe program file and select properties, and under the Compatiility tab, select Windows XP SP1 or SP2.)
So technically, the software only sees itself running under XP SP2.

USB driver file must also correspond the type of cable, as well as the cable chip driver. (both drivers are found within the same zip file you downloaded for each type of cable)

So here is my question. I've sucessfully connected my Phone with the cable and communicated fine with Com3 at 230400 BD.

I can't seem to connect to the TMS server though to verify account info or download area from TMS client. Port 59059 is wide open for both incoming and outgoing and pings fine through it, and all firewall and antivirus turned off... Still no communication...

BTW: This is Total Multi Server V-2.42. Any issues you cna think of?

Many thanks in advance!!

OK Solved...

I found out that Vista's "Network Center" was set to public, which disables some protocols from WAN. I set it to "Private" settings and turned the firewalls back up...

With this setting, it went right through and connected.

So in summary:

Open port 59059 TCP in Firewall and Router
Use MultiServer 2.42
Set Vista to open MultiServer Client in "Windows XP SP2 Compatibility mode"
Set Network configuration for internet connection as "Private"
Start MultiServer and do things normally.

* This was only in my case so don't quote me or hold me responsible for any discrepancies or compatibility issues. As official web support for the product says, Vista is NOT compatible (or I should say 'supported') so all is at your own risk.

Have fun!
