Problems flashing Z520a with TMS

Hi, i tried to flash my Z520a with TMS and at 74% on the FS file it stops with an error message saying the battery is dead.. this is incorrect because that battery placed in another phone shows above 90%.. when i charge it up and try again i get the same error message..

any idea????

the phone now wont turn on.

What cable are you trying? DCU-60 or any other USB service cable?

i tried both the DCU-60 and cruiser 4 in 1.

something is wrong with the phone but it worked before i tried flashing it and now it doesnt.

Hello there

yeah, Ive tried 2 computers and 2 extra batteries fully charged.. think it could be a defect in the phone or even a new version that isn't supported yet?

Hello there,

If you did these tests, this means the hardware flash IC is damaged or bad soldered. I really recommend you bring up the phone to SE service center or resolder the BGA IC and reflash it.

About Z520, its fully supported (all CIDs) in TMS! 200%

thats what im afraid of. my customer is getting kinda ansy about getting his phone back.

im guessing it has to be the flash ic because everytime it fails at the same % on the FS file..

its identical on both tms and usb-smart.

usually when usb-smart fails, tms will always come through.

is there some schematic around that shows what chip is the flash ic?
sometimes with nokia, a hot hair dryer will fix it.. maybe it will work.

Hi there,

then all is clear.

Need re-solder (re-hot may solve it) the Flash IC. Same method you use with NOKIAs :)
