You need to buy Total Multiserver cable if you want make unlock too.
type on google: Total Multiserver cable

For simple flashing you can use the original DCU-60 cable.

Because the DCU60 cable - the one you get in the box - is only able to flash red firmware (approved) over red firmware.
As Sony-Ericsson haven't released the W800i firmware as an official firmware, the software available is 'brown' and considered a 'beta' firmware - so it won't let you!

If you can't afford a Cruiser/Fighter cable, you'll just have to send your phone to someone else. However, I bought my Cruiser cable off ebay for about €30 shipped from the US - so its not a lot!

(P.S. If I have brown and red the wrong way round - apologies - its been a long day lol)

What about the sony ericsson k750i UC 10 cable. I was told by the supplier on ordering this will do both unlocking and debranding. I'm so confused as to which is the right cable and don't want to waste money on the wrong one.

Pinky USB Cable with autopower (PC bus +5V)
Cruiser USB Cable with inline power (alligator clips +3V or +9V)
TMS USB Cable with autopower (PC bus +5V)

Give those three cables a thumbs up for full (100% of TMS features)servicing on D750i, K750i, and W800i handsets.

Sony Ericsson DCU-60 USB Cable

Works with same colored firmware. Most retail boxes handsets are RED. Developer and Prototype units are BROWN. Please verify color of your firmware BEFORE you do anything else.

The DCU-60 cable CANNOT change certificate color of your handset. It also CANNOT be used to unlock your handset. Please purchase initial 3 aforementione cables in this post for full service capabilities of TMS.

DCU-60 can now be used with TMS to convert to W800i R1N035

but you will need 1 credit

<smile> You enter the TMS support forum and request information for a free flashing solution. I'm sure there will be one at some future time, but you are currently stuck with SEUS at http://www.sonyericsson.com -- at this time, not all handsets are supported.

If SEUS does not work for your particular handset, you may purchase a TMS credit to upgrade to the latest revision with your DCU-60 cable. I have personally tested the cable on the D750, K750, and W800 handsets and they all worked just fine as long as all pertinent software drivers were installed prior to executing TMS.
