G600 Imei 000000000000000

Please forgive my intrusion however I write to you in desperation. First and foremost I have little knowledge of the mobile scene however, having purchased a G600 on Orange and wanted to use an O2 simcard I followed the advice on this thread and used the code *7337# all this did was reset my IMEI number to 000000000000000.

My problem is I cannot find a solution to return the IMEI to its original number. I have visited various shops in the Derby area and they tell me it cannot be done. I refuse to accept this and has you had a similar problem I wonder if you could advise me please where to get this problem fixed.

Do I need to buy any equipment?

Thanks

Yep they are all right it cant be changed to original yet. So I am afraid for the moment you will have to accept it.

Only solution I guess is return it to were you bought it from and see if you can get it exchanged

Hi Seedy

Thanks for the speedy reply. As this handset was new I have emailed Samsung to ascertain if they do an exchange service. I'll keep you posted.

I see that the eeprom can be rewritten, what is the eeprom and does this apply to my model?
Regards
Integrity

It looks like you are in luck - if the guy above has written is true, if you go around Derby again and ask if any of them have UST sw then they may be able to do it now. However if you want to wait a few days and try again no doubt NSPRO sw will do it so majority of the shops will be bale to do it

If you get no luck PM me later in week and I will see if I can help you

In this case eeprom is were the IMEI is kept along with other things !!

Just return phone to shop, saying it does not work. Don't say anything else. If phone is not older than 14 days, they have to exchange immediately. If older, they will send away to repair centre. Play ignorance > that is how you received
phone.
