Member: 2277234 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Apparently it's possible, there's a guy on ebay touting his ability to repair the imei on 4.4.2 i527 mega. When I asked him about it he said the root for 4.4.2 was a "trade secret" So it's already not impossible... |

Member: 2277234 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I don't have an i527 myself.... but there's speculation that Towelroot v3 with custom values may do the job.... Yes this means hundreds of combos... but it also potentially could give us root. So to someone bored and stoned enough, it may be worth investigating. |

Member: 2076039 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 648 | He's not rooting the 527. There's no way to root it. THERE is however a way to repair the IMEI. It involves backung up nv items, using heimdall to reset the EFS through download mode, using DFS CDMA tool to write the new IMEI and writing the nv backup back to the phone. YES I've done it. YES it works. YES all the info you need is here. |

Member: 2076039 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 648 | Read read read. That's all I can say. All the information is out there. If you're looking for a one click solution, wait for the next kernel level root. There's a reason why only a few people are able to currently service this device. |
