right ok here goes lol

note 4 sm-n910f.
baseband: N910FXXU1BOC4
version 5.0.1

rooted with CF-Auto-Root-trlte-trltexx-smn910f.tar.
followed nspro instruction on screen to the letter.

phone is working fine other than the cert problem.

I have also tried with wiping the efs from diag settings on the phone. And still nspro crashes at the same point mention in my first post.

my next attempt will be to try firmware 4.4.4 and see if that helps. I suspect not, but worth a try.

How do you enter in diag mode? And do you have to wipe the efs in order
to write the CERT file? Thank you for all the support!

W/o Root put in recovery mode and click in "ENABLE CP" for Diag Mode.

BKP EFS and SECURITY first of WIPE.

Or

Downgrade same fw version to 4.X.X if stuck in logo after downgrade for to many time, reboot in Recovery mode and Factory Reset + Wipe Cache, with 4.X.X no complicate put in diag mode
(This above More sure way.)

or

Only for 5.0/5.0.1 (Not update to 5.1.1)

You should root the phone to read out backups of Security and EFS, and also to make Wipe Security via ABD. You can make Wipe Security/EFS via phone's menu. But, if You will not have backups of Security and EFS, You will no able to return the phone into the initial state, if something will go wrong. If You want to risk, do the next:

1. Fully charge phone's battery.
2. Make Wipe Security/EFS via phone's menu:

2.1. Write same firmware 5.0.1 (don't root the phone after, this is important!).
2.2. Type *#9090#.
2.3. Type at rigth corner MENU + select "Back".
2.4. Typy at rigth corner MENU + input Q.
2.5. Type at rigth croner MENU + input 0000.

Look this video manual: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DtPT2MmNhg.

4. Block battery's proper contact by using a tape, connect the phone to Box via Samsung Micro UART Ns Pro cable and write the IMEI Certificate ("Write Cert" button in the Software).

IF BRICK YOU DEVICE BECOUSE YOU DO ANY MISTAKE I'M NOT RESPONSABLE OF NOTHING, IF NOT ARE 100% SURE OF WHAT ARE DOING, NOT DO NOTHING AND FIRST USE SEARCH BUTTON FOR TO HAVE ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE.
ALL IS AT YOU RISK.!!!!!!

Okay thank you very much, last question and I think I will be happy to try for a note 3 of my own (Canadian variant)

Question is: How can I backup the Security and EFS of a note 3 or samsung s5 or s6? Thank you again!

There's option in Ns Pro for Save EFS .Bin and NV

If want Save Full Efs, Nv range, QCN itc... just use "Efs Professional Tool", google for this
