box problem - can't connect any phone with usb

i just want to know if the rx light should light up or the tx is the only one blinking, because i can't connect any phone with the usb port, i have done many china phones before, then last night nothing is working, i am doing a n95 chinese which im sure i have a correct pinout. i have tried c119, c139 using x60 cable and it also wont connect. thanks

another question: can chinese phones be formatted using COM1? thanks

InfinitySupport 01-04-2008 11:33

Hello,

You can use any cable and any COM port to work with any phone.

Box problem: hard to say what can be wrong. If you have tried to find pinout for Chinese phones before it may be that wires was cinnected to wrong test points and box become damaged and in this case you need to replace FT232 box chip. It's just an idea because some people reportad about damaged boxes after wrong "+" and "-" wires connection.

ok, is the FT232 chip easily available? or should i send my box to my reseller? maybe it is the reason, because it is working fine before i use my newly bought china cable set, if FT232 is damaged does it mean that i can't also use the COM port of the infinity box?

InfinitySupport 01-04-2008 17:35

Hello,

You have no reason to send box to reseller. If box was damaged during wrong cables useage it's not a warranty situation.
FT232 chip available everywhere, f.e. here: http://www.ftdichip.com/

If FT232 chip damaged you still can use box as a dongle (with smart-card inside) but can't use it as usb-rs232 converter and COM port connection via box will be unavailable.

must be a different problem, because mine is working using the box comport...
also can ft232 be found in old FBUS MBUS cables? or jaf / twister box? thanks for the support.

InfinitySupport 01-05-2008 12:48

FT232 can be found in many different boxes. I don't know exactly about jaf/twister but you can open it and check.
