inifinity driver prob - GSM-Forum

hi

for the last 4-5 months been using infinity fine. have sold cruiser n ust so uninstalled them from my system and now

the found new hardware wizard comes up when i plug infinity slim plus in. i downloaded the infinity drivers new and old and have tried installing but keep gettin same error when installing usb serial convertor

an error occurred during the installation of the device
the system cannot find the file specified

please advise

Hello,

uninstall FTDI drivers.
reboot PC
install Infinity-Box drivers according to installation manual exactly.
reboot PC

have tried uninstalling ftdi drivers usin the infinity uninstaller but still get same error

am getting really annoyed trying to figure a solution out.

any ideas?

Hello,

What device exactly can not be installed ?
Did you checked pictures in Infinity-Box installation manual ?

yes i checked it.

have tried to install on another system and it works.

usb serial convertor and usb serial port

i point windows to the correct part but it says same error on both bits

Hello,

Try to use this C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftdiunin.exe to uninstall old drivers.
Then reboot PC and install FTDI drivers again.

Hello,

Have no idea whay that happened, but in any case ftdiunin.exe is not bad way to uninstall FTDI drivers completely before new installation.
