Hi, i've downloaded the correct tools and changed the product code of the phone to the one you suggested, I started NSU but it say my phone is totally up to date and I can't update the firmware. Should I be getting worried or is it all done and dusted? Also I still cannot hold # and get the phone to go on silent. NSS tells me the product code has been updated. What's going on?

ok, changed the product code to: 0547774 RM-265 CTR BLACK LATIN EURO C UK and managed to update the firmware to v6.61 however the keymap is still the same. I am still unable to put the phone on silent using the # key. Help would be much appreciated. Ty

I have changed to product code to the one you just stated, then tried to use NSU however it's telling me there are no software updates available for my phone and my current firmware version is still v6.61. This is proving to be a mamoth task trying to get one button to do what it's meant to do (stupid orange lol)

Hahah ... Unfortunately you cannot downgrade firmware without a flashing box or the cracked JAF software ...

alright, so lets go with the cracked JAF software as I wouldn't need a box for that right? So how do I go from A to B and eventually end up with a phone that works but without any of the orange software or keymapping on it and a # that puts the phone on silent?

also, why would downgrading to this firmware get rid of the orange stuff on my phone? Surely it should have been deleted after I updated the firmware the first two times?

Your issue is locating/downloading the older software now ... I'd not recommend this for a novice TBH

Should be either of these two depending on the colour scheme you want:

0548829 RM-265 CTR BLACK LATIN EURO A
0549704 RM-265 CTR BRONZE LATIN EURO A

I had an o2 6500 Slide & I used 0549718.

I wouldn't use the V6.60 SW if you like the slide tones.

TBH, I liked SW V4.84. I had no problems with it & it was stable.

Nokia needs to get on the ball & fix the V6.60 FW......especially since Nokia has plans to discontinue the 6500 Slide before the end of the year.

Where did this v6.61 come out? Or is that just a typo?
